On Friday we headed for the Grand Teton National Park.  Getting to Grand Teton is very easy from Yellowstone.  You leave Yellowstone and  go directly into Grand Teton.  Grand Teton was formed many years after Yellowstone.  Sometime around the early 1900's some people got together and proposed developing a new park to protect the Tetons.  Guess they succeeded.

We saw some more beautiful scenery in the Grand Teton.  Here is the trip in pictures.

On the left is Grand Teton.  It is about 13,700 feet above sea level.

Hard to read, but this post tells about how the mountains are still growing.  Impressive.

View from top of Signal Mountain.  This point is 7700 feet above sea level.  The river is far below, I have it zoomed in as much as I can.

Another view of the valley and mountains from Signal Mountain.  Found a good looking girl to pose in the picture for me.

The church is the Sacred Heart Catholic Church.  It was completely remodeled sometime around 1930.  It is still used today.

The stained glass window is just behind the pulpit area in the church.  That is the Sacred Heart in the middle of the glass.

More of the mountains.

Next stop was at Menor's Ferry.  Menor (pronounced meaner) was one of the early settlers of the area.  He built the ferry at a point that was advantageous for trade and travel.

This is a replica of the of the original ferry boat.  There are plans to someday put the ferry back to work for demonstrations.

This house is the original house where a group of concerned citizens met to start the ball rolling to create Grand Teton National Park.

This church is located only a short distance from the ferry.

That good looking girl showed up for some more picture taking.  This was the only moose we saw on our trip.

We exited Grand Teton and headed for Jackson Hole, Wyoming.  I was expecting a little town that was more western themed.  Got another Gatlinburg.  Very touristy.

There is one good thing about Jackson Hole that I did like, and that is the dedication to protecting the wildlife in the area.  The visitor center displays many area wildlife exhibits.

This is a picture of the downtown square in Jackson Hole.  The arch is made from Elk and deer horns.  There is an arc just like that on each corner of the square.

We had a great day traveling around Grand Teton.  Again I could post a lot more pictures, but it would take up too much space.

This trip took a longer time that our visit to Yellowstone.  I guess because we had to travel through Yellowstone to get there.

Hope you enjoyed the ride.  Stayed tuned for the trip on the Beartooth Scenic Highway, and I mean high way.

See y'all later, and remember,

God Loves You, yes even you.
