Today we finished day eight of our project. We have almost completed the siding on the south side of the house. There are only a few rows on the back section to be completed. Sharon and Leanne have been working hard to do the touch up painting on the siding and trim. Leanne has been braving the heights to caulk around the windows and the trim. Art and Sue reached the limits of their ladders, so they traded places with Steve and me. Steve and I finished the last couple of rows on the high side of the house. Along with the siding, painting, and caulking, we put up some finish work around some of the windows on the inside. We also put up a screen door on the front door. I'll have to say that for a team that has never installed hardi board we have done a pretty good job.
On Monday we are going to remove old siding and an old window from the back of the house and put up new siding and window.
As you can see from all of the pictures that I have posted, we have completed a lot of work in eight days.
I have also posted a picture of the couple, Brian and Sue Dixon, that own the house. They are an interesting couple. Sue mentioned to Sharon that she had been in the ballet at one time. Brian is originally from England and had served in the army in the Scottish Guards. He said that he wore a kilt and did have good looking knees then. He came to the states about 30 years ago to work in the oil fields.
We have a big weekend planned, but I'll tell you about that later.
