Good morning.  We had a very productive day again yesterday despite the weather.  As many of you know there were some bad storms that swept through parts of the south and upper mid-west.  We were fortunate here at Loucon, we only received some heavy rain most of the day.  We had finished putting the roof on the cabin Wednesday, so that allowed us to work inside and stay dry.  The area around the cabin had gotten very wet and muddy, but one of the young men on the camp staff found some old boards and built us a board walk from the grassy area over the mud to the steps of the cabin.  Like I have mentioned before, the staff here is taking great care of us.

Bud and Benji and directed us on what we were going to do for the day, so with little delay we got started.

The first thing we had to do was to install the electrical wiring.  Bud and I got started on that.  First thing we did was drill the holes in the wall studs to run the wall receptacle wiring.  Then we ran the light, smoke alarm, and A/C-heater wiring overhead.

We also mounted the circuit breaker box and ran all of the wiring into the box.  I remembered to label each wire prior to putting up the insulation.  I don't think it would have been much fun trying to figure out where each wire went after covering the wires with insulation.

The last thing we did for the day was to install the insulation.  The insulation came in 93" long pieces and 14 1/2" wide, the exact height of the walls and width between the studs.  Having pieces already the right length made it much faster to install.  We didn't have to stop and cut each piece off of a large roll.

The same was true with the ceiling insulation.  The insulation for the ceiling was a little heavier, but the right size.  It also came in 93" length, but in 24" widths.  By using an electric staple gun, we were able to have all of the insulation installed before the end of the day.

We are getting excited to see the finished cabin.  We will finish installing the plug receptacles, lights, and smoke alarm on Monday.  I am hoping that we will also get the windows installed on Monday also.  I do know that we will be installing the wall board and ceiling on Monday.

So, as you can see, the cabin is coming along real nice.  We will have a completed cabin by next Thursday.  Then we will be off to the next project.

You all have a great weekend.  I hope to have some nice pictures of the camp and of some great Kentucky country side in my next posting.

Above all things, remember

God Loves You, yes even you

Gary
